Cuskin #2
It’s been a while since we met Martina Matencio. She is a photographer who captures individuals -mostly women- in a very delicate way. She has worked with Cus lately and just published her new book (‘Martina, tengo que hablar contigo’, Planeta de Libros) that connects her images and thoughts, like she often does on Instagram.
Adriana Zalacain, regarding Cus Project #2, wanted to explore the idea of fear through intimacy and knew that Martina was the right artist to work with in order to represent these aspects from a creative perspective.
‘Hole Wall Ball’ is a performative exercise in which Adriana plays with architectural elements as a way to smooth her relationship with fear. She ends up dressed, because she finds new meanings to her questions in what clothes symbolize. The pictures by Martina are expressive, somehow baroque and relieving.
Cuskin#2 is a conversation with Martina about bodies, fear and inspiration. Words by Byung-Chul Han and Jean-Paul Sartre enlightens the conversation between the designer and the photographer, captured by Sara Guerrero. Enjoy this new Cuskin.
